Forum: Transportation Priorities for DC’s Next Mayor & Council

What are your transportation priorities for 2027 and beyond? We want to hear from you, and we’d like in-coming and continuing elected officials to hear from you, so we’ve joined with Greater Greater Washington and the Bike, Walk, and Bus PAC to host a forum on Transportation Policy and Project Priorities for DC’s Next Mayor & Council. Please join us! The forum will take place Sunday afternoon, October 18, 4:00–5:30 pm at the Festival Center in Adams Morgan.

We at WABA are tracking a range of transportation plans, policies, and projects – including DDOT’s Strategic Bikeways Plan, RFK campus redevelopment, the Downtown DC Transportation Plan, and the District’s emerging autonomous vehicle (AV) policy – and we’re working to elevate community needs, concerns, and voices. 

We’ll kick off the program by framing transportation needs, challenges, and opportunities city-wide, and then we’ll turn the microphone over to attendees to share their thoughts. This won’t be a campaign forum – WABA is nonpartisan – so candidates will be provided the same time as any other resident to share their thoughts. Then – and this will be the fun part – we’re planning 30+ minutes of informal, unstructured discussion between attendees, advocacy organizations, and candidates and officials.
