Your Exposure

Digital Audience: Our followers are highly engaged because our messaging is clear, relevant, and personable.

Event Participants

Event participants are dues-paying WABA members—they live all over the DC region, and each event creates a unique experience to enjoy biking in places where they live, work, and play.

    • WABA members back our vision, support our campaigns, and proudly represent WABA’s decades of better biking in the region.
    • 5,500+ dues-paying members.
    • 94% members plan to renew next year.
    • Our members live active lifestyles—outdoors and in their communities.

2019 Sponsorship Opportunities

WABA’s on-bike events are engaging community events that lead thousands of riders each year to experience new places to bike, and new people to bike with. Associate your brand with these on-bike events:

2019 Signature Ride Events:

  • Sprouts Ride (April) *new!

    • Get back in the saddle this spring with the Sprouts Ride! We’re launching a family ride accessible to riders of all ages (and skill levels).

  • The Sweet Ride & Shindig (June 15th) *new!

    • Starting and ending in Crystal City, WABA’s newest Signature Ride Event is coming this June!

This new signature event will have a two-pronged engagement strategy—combining our classic ride event format with a community block party.

      • The ride will be fun, beautiful ride routes to explore northern Virginia, accessible to riders of all skill level and experience.
      • The focus on community engagement and place-making will connect our on-bike and off-bike community with WABA’s work.
  • 50 States Ride (September)

    • The 50 States Ride is an urban adventure by bicycle, and a crowning achievement for many area bicyclists.

    • WABA offers three routes: the 55-mile 50 States route, the 30-mile Route 66, and the 15-mile 13 Colonies route, that take riders to all 8 Wards in DC.

    • Our most popular Signature Ride Event, this ride is a celebration of bicycling in the district and region: a community event where riders encourage one another and share in the feeling of biking through our nation’s capital.

  • Cider Ride (November)

    • The Cider Ride takes participants from DC into Prince George’s County, MD and connects riders to bicycling issues in Prince George’s county and opportunities to take action and help grow bicycling in the region.

    • All participants enjoy “cider stops” and fall themed treats.

Happy Campers:

  • WABA in the Wild (October)

    • WABA’s bike touring experience engages some of our most dedicated members and supporters out in the wild. During the WABA in the Wild weekend, 25-30 participants:

      • Ride 184.5 miles from Cumberland, MD to Washington, DC
      • Enjoy a fully supported ride experience, including accommodations, meals, snacks, and support
      • Celebrate the $30,000+ they raised for WABA through peer-to-peer fundraising
      • Engage with C&O Canal staff and WABA experts to learn about advocacy and education efforts in the region

  • Bike Camp! (June—July)

    • Bike Camp! is a summer program for kids aged 8 to 14. It’s experiential learning that’s all about team-building, fun, community, and discovery. Each session runs from 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Bike Camp 2019 has four week-long sessions.

Community + Education:

  • Community Rides (24 per year)

  • Personal, educational, and fun bike rides for customers, employees, and community members: WABA Community Rides are for bicyclists of all ages and abilities.
  • Sponsor a Community Ride and feature a route, bike by your business, or simply create a fun engaging event for your customers or employees to bike around with their friends and family.
