The region’s largest celebration of getting to work on two wheels, Bike to Work Day is an annual event that celebrates those who commute to work by bike. This is the one day that our regions recognizes biking as an everyday form of transportation.
Bike to Work Day has grown more than 10% per year in recent years as more people choose to commute on two wheels. The event is now managed by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, in partnership with us at WABA and other regional partners and sponsors. For information about the event, see the official Bike to Work Day website.
This year, Bike to Work Day 2014 was held on Fri., May 16. A record breaking 16,800+ people registered, with 79 pit stops across the region in DC, Maryland and Virgina.
