DC Smart Bikes

DC Smart Bike is a type of automated bicycle rental, or  bike sharing, system developed by Clear Channel Adshel, an international outdoor advertising company.  The DC program will feature 120 bikes at 10 locations throughout the city.  Memberships cost $40 a year, $30 for WABA members and allows for free access to the bikes for up to three hours.

Bikes on Transit

Since 2002, cyclists have been able to use bike racks on busses thanks to WABA's hard work. Over the years, WABA has worked with Metro to expand the the Bike-on-Rail program, which began, at WABA's suggestion, in 1981. learn more>>

Trails

The DC Area's extensive network of scenic bike paths are great for getting a workout or just getting to work. WABA is proud to have helped to make many of the paths in this ever-expanding network a reality. Highlights of this network include Virginia's Mount Vernon Trail, DC's Capital Crescent Trail, and Maryland's Anacostia Tributary Trail System. see a clickable map of the trail system>>

These shops are the backbone of the cycling community. As a WABA member, you receive discounts at most of the area's bike shops.
